Institutul Geologic al României (Geological Institute of Romania , IGR) is the National Institute for Research and Development in the Field of Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Remote Sensing. It ensures the correlation of national geological spatial data with neighboring countries, researches various geophysical fields, develops integrated geonomic research (including GIS and satellite image analysis), and studies geological phenomena with natural hazard potential. It also participates in national and international research projects.
